This Quars War: Crusader Ailthean Tractor

Rolling into service along the rugged Tok-Kryst frontier in 1750, the Ailthean Light Armored Tractor was a game-changer for the Tokish Tractor Corps. Built from the ground up, this clean-slate design answered the call for a vehicle that could keep pace with scouting parties and pursuing forces across unforgiving terrain. With thicker armor, an enclosed hull, advanced suspension, and double the cadier-power of its predecessors, the Ailthean combined durability and punch in a compact, nimble frame.

Life inside, however, is anything but comfortable. The fighting compartment is hot, cramped, and deafening - a relentless test of endurance for the driver, while commanders and gunners often perch atop the hull for air and a better vantage, elbows scraping the armor as the tractor lurches over rocky trails.

Designed primarily to support rhyfler infantry, the Ailthean excels at scouting, screening advancing units, and delivering its 78mm gun with devastating effect when the front line erupts. Though optimized for high-explosive and smoke shells, the main gun can easily handle lighter tractors, turning the Ailthean into a versatile threat. Its combined hull-and-turret design prioritizes protection over speed, and like all Tokish machines, it demands careful handling: the turret rotates via the vehicle’s own transmission, requiring the driver to disengage the tracks to aim - an elegant solution, if a moving target doesn’t complicate matters.
